About the Role
We have a rare opportunity for a Principal Closure Planning to join our Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP) Working Group. Reporting to the working group Lead, your role will be to support and drive the program delivery framework. This framework is required to submit (and have approved) BHP’s transitional PRCPs within the agreed timeframes.
This will require information from multiple technical sources to be analyzed and critically evaluated to ensure that the right business decisions are made against the appropriate governance frameworks. This position is based in Brisbane with ad hoc site travel required. Flexible work options will be considered.
You will be required to:
- Deliver technically compliant and internally approved PRC Plans and Schedules within the required timeframes
- Provide ongoing input, refinement and management of the PRCP project management schedule, budgeting, forecasting and invoicing.
- Assist in managing consultants to deliver their required PRCP compliance content, on time and within budget.
- Be a key point of contact and communication between the consulting Program Delivery Team, external consultants and the BHP PRCP Working Group.
- Assist with general project management including maintenance of site-wide Information Registers, (Sharepoint management and data transfers)
- Undertake regular general administration and reporting support for PRCP Working Group
- Manage Contractors, including performance to plan
- Understand all scopes of work being executed and interpret the results to ensure a consistent and consolidated approach is delivered in the final site PRC Plan and Schedule
- Supporting problem solving across all technical areas to deliver outcomes that meet regulatory requirements but also allow for operational flexibility and value
- Lead, coach, influence and collaborate with all levels of the business, external stakeholders, and regulators
- Provide subject matter expertise on rehabilitation methods and practices and the requirements underpinning the development of the rehabilitation milestone criteria
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering (or similar)
- A working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation and regulatory HSE policies and procedures and their implementation in the mining and resources sector;
- Demonstrated change management experience, including working with diverse stakeholder groups, business processes, systems, and technology.
- Ability to build consultative and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
