Principal, Commercial – New South Wales

Location: Sydney

Roster: Monday to Friday

Reporting to the Manager, NSW, the Principal Commercial will lead the development, negotiation and management of a broad range of commercial arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives in accordance with FFI’s corporate energy strategy. 

This is not a Contracts or Procurement role where you will be developing contracts from existing templates or passively negotiating standard terms.  Due to the new and broad range of commercial opportunities you will be driving, you will need to apply your commercial skills, creativity, and varied experience to achieve optimum outcomes for the business.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of high value, business critical agreements
  • Leading negotiations and providing direction with regards to the development, implementation, and management of contracts to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives
  • Compiling agreement documentation, recommendations for award and managing variations
  • Identifying and creating opportunities for value creation in all negotiations and agreements
  • Managing strategic contractor and partner relationships, working collaboratively to identify opportunities to enhance business outcomes

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Qualifications in law, commerce, economics and/or business
  • Experience in managing and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including claims and invoicing
  • Extensive experience in a fast-paced commercial contracts function
  • Extensive energy industry knowledge and experience preferred, other industries related to hydrogen products such as transport or fertiliser considered
  • Ability to communicate clearly and interact with all levels within the organisation, including site and core functional areas (eg tax, finance, legal, purchasing and accounts)
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, whilst managing team priorities
  • SAP and Microsoft Office experience
