Principal - Community Relations

About the Role

As the Principal Community Relations Advisor, your role will be to support Whitehaven Coal’s and associated entities social license and relevant approvals.  With excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you will be able to drive positive relationships with the local communities, including neighboring landowners, community organisations, government authorities and other key stakeholders within the business. This is a local full time position working a 9 day fortnight in regional NSW's Gunnedah region.
 

What You’ll Do

• Maintain positive relationships with the local community including liaison with relevant stakeholders, responding to complaints and resolving issues / disputes
• Support Whitehaven events with the stakeholder engagement dimensions for tenements, approvals and modification processes, including drafting and implementing stakeholder engagement plans in line with best practice approaches for the resources sector
• Support engagement with Councils and other Government stakeholders to ensure Whitehaven Coal’s aims and objectives are met
• Provide sites with support for Landholder engagement, site-based community risk and CCC coordination
• Support the implementation of the Whitehaven Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.
