About the Role
We now have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Principal Engineer – Electrical (EEM) at Broadmeadow Underground Mine in the Bowen Basin. You will play a key role in coaching and influencing our key stakeholders to adhere to our obligations under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation (CMSHR) ensuring the electrical safety of the mine. Working in this position will see you ensuring the safety of workers and the reliability of equipment through:
- Control and manage the electrical engineering activities at the mine;
- Confirming statutory requirements are met, rectify and report issues;
- Development and improvement of Engineering Management Systems;
- Confirmation of compliance in areas of design, installation & maintenance;
- Monitoring of servicing and maintenance work to ensure compliance with relevant requirements and standards;
- Risk Assessment process implementation;
- Assist in provision of work scopes, budget execution and Electrical Engineering projects;
- Managing the records of electrical installations, commissioning procedures & records, authorised electrical persons & authorised people to enter electrical areas.
About You
You will have qualifications in:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade.
- Underground Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) competencies.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground coal mining operations.

Your superior stakeholder engagement will foster collaborative working relationships across our operation and function teams. You will have knowledge to apply critical thinking to the development and the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and organisational levels to create buy-in and influence outcomes. You will have demonstrated leadership capability, and the strong interpersonal skills to engage and listen to the diverse range of stakeholders within our business.
