About the MECoE

BHP's Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) are the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving, and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally. About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Governance & Technical Stewardship, this highly influential role is part of BHP’s state of the art Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE).

Offering wide stakeholder engagement and exposure to strategic programs, you will be involved in developing, implementing, supporting, and assuring selected engineering global standards, processes, and systems across BHP’s Engineering teams in our global assets.  

You will be part of a team that drives global Engineering initiatives to enable standardisation and improved business outcomes including:  

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and social value.
  • Develop, maintain and improve global standards relating to Engineering Governance and Technical Stewardship.
  • Guide, facilitate, and lead global working groups for selected projects and/or global standards.
  • Provide expert advice and support to ensure ongoing compliance to standards.
  • Perform assurance activities associated with the global standards.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations on business performance in technical areas.
  • Maintain the frameworks that contain the relevant documents, systems and tools aligned with global standards.
  • Adhere to the BHP Code of Business Conduct and demonstrate BHP Charter Values.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an aligned discipline.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in technical engineering and/or maintenance in the resource industry.
  • Operational experience in engineering and/or maintenance teams strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the management of operational risk through applied controls.
  • Asset integrity management knowledge and experience will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to engage, influence and manage change across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management acumen from identification through to execution and associated implementation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience building relationships.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to confidently challenge and lead change.
  • Ability to think conceptually and transform ideas into well-structured, tangible outcomes.

Location

In this full-time permanent position, there is flexibility for you to be based at BHP Australia corporate office in Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide. You will be working on Monday-Friday roster while flexible work is also offered. There will be some site and corporate office travel required.
