We are looking for a Principal Execution to join the Integrated Operations team, based at the Operations Centre. This role opportunity provides the ability to manage the execution of the Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) 24/7 supply chain utilising your high-level problem solving within fast paced, complex and dynamic situations. 

You will be leading a large team that is accountable for managing supply chain deviations across the business. The Integrated Operations team is undergoing a large-scale transformation and digitisation of current supply chain management tools. As an experienced, change leader you will have the opportunity to work with a leading consulting firm to deliver new systems and tools that enable and support optimised supply chain decisions.

Reporting to the Manager Supply Forecasting & Scheduling and working in a collaborative, inclusive and diverse environment, your accountabilities will include:

  • Inform and guide Business Resilience Team on system tactics, risk and opportunities
  • Provide impact assessments, business continuity to planning and performance to planopportunities to stakeholders and team for execution
  • Integrate expansion and upgrade projects into the current supply chain
  • Provide leadership, advice and production system overviews to project teams / externalconsultants as required and contribute to improvement initiatives
  • Stakeholder engagement and value based decisions for peers across the RTIO Supply Chain (Mine, Rail, Port), including support functions. This may include guiding through recovery from production down times and analysing and managing priorities for the groups.
  • Maintain an 8-week horizon outlook in order to understand the impacts of execution decisions
  • Co-ordinate deviations from schedule with a system wide perspective and manage optimisation of the supply chain performance in the next 36 hours (ongoing)

In addition, you will bring:

  • An understanding of the Iron Ore value chain to enact real time decisions that support volume and quality throughput. You may be a technical expert in Mine, Rail, Port, Commercial or bring transferrable supply chain knowledge.
  • Demonstrated Risk Management experience 
  • High level Communication & Collaboration to influence a significant number of stakeholders 
  • Commercial Acumen
  • Data Analysis 
  • Digital Platform and/or Digital Project Management experience
