About the Role

The purpose of the External Affairs (EA) Operations team is to enable and amplify the impact of our EA team. Reporting to the Manager of EA Operations for the Global Corporate Affairs & Communications, Sustainability & Social Value sub-functions, you will provide these teams with strategic support and deliver transformation and improvement initiatives that leave a positive impact on the culture, capabilities, and performance of the teams. 

Your responsibilities:  

  • Act as a subject matter expert who deeply understands our teams’ strategies, needs and challenges and is sought out by the teams for advice, strategic insight, and support. 
  • Identify, plan, track and manage the delivery of transformation and process improvement opportunities and initiatives. 
  • Assess technology opportunities and threats and collaborate with the teams (and third party vendors where required) to design, develop and embed relevant technology, software applications, solutions and automated workflows. 
  • Use your conceptual and technical skills to design technology based solutions that simplify complex reporting, databases and frameworks. 
  • Work with other business stakeholders (eg. Finance, Procurement, Cyber, Technology) to manage processes and systems as they affect EA. Use your strong interpersonal skills to empower and enable EA teams to navigate these processes and systems in an easy and efficient way.
  • Identify opportunities to utilise AI including to monitor risks and opportunities and to enhance outputs and streamline processes. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, technology, or EA-related field.
  • 5-10+ years experience within or adjacent to the EA space, preferably in a large multi-national corporate environment, or in a top-tier law firm, big 4 firm, or consulting firm.  
  • You have commercial, business, and strategic acumen along with a proven innovation mindset and take responsibility for solving a problem and delivering an outcome. 
  • Experience managing a high volume of projects, including technology projects (from inception through embedment and BAU).  
  • Very strong data preparation, collation (from multiple sources and programs), management and visualisation skills (turning raw data into valuable business insights). 
  • Must have extensive experience using Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Power BI, Power Automate and other low code/no code platforms (such as Nintex). 
  • Experience and /or formal project management qualifications in Lean, Agile, design thinking and/or similar continuous improvement and project management methodologies, is preferred.
  • Other programming language experience, and experience with RPA, AI and Machine Learning, is desirable. 
  • Experience in a similar improvement or innovation team and/or marketing, legal or other operations team, is desirable.
