The Opportunity - Permanent, Full Time Position
A part of the Finance Function at South32, the purpose of this role of Principal Finance Digital and Optimisation is to optimise finance processes through stakeholder engagements, process mapping, root cause analysis etc. with the view to identify, evaluate, design, and implement optimisation opportunities. This blended role supports the delivery of the Finance digital strategy across all CFO sub-function teams, including SAP S/4HANA upgrade readiness activities. Reporting to the Manager Finance Digital & Optimisation, key role accountabilities include:
• Collaborate with Process Owners to support the optimisation of Finance activities, solve issues to root cause where processes are not performing as expected (across all elements of people, process, and system)
• Lead digital projects end to end on behalf of the CFO function and provide project governance (scope, planning, reporting)
• Designing and implementing optimisation opportunities and evaluation of technology solutions
• Stakeholder mapping, engagement and change management
• Develop process maps for current and future-state
• Support finance systems current state processes including system changes and minor projects in SAP ECC, BCS, TM1 Planning and associated systems
• Support finance half year and year end reporting requirements as required
About You
• Experience working in relevant roles in a large, complex business with demonstrable experience as the finance subject matter expert contributing as part of a team for large scale projects or system implementation, or smaller targeted Finance CI projects
• Detailed understanding of finance processes and deliverables in a global corporate/ commercial environment
• Able to scope and articulate a clear project or work package / scope of work through the effective use of project management methodologies and tools
• Excellent diagnostic and design process knowledge, with emphasis on collaborative outcomes
• Excellent communication (verbal and written)
• Problem solving and root cause identification skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement with coaching and influencing skills, with a natural abundance of energy, warmth and genuine enthusiasm which inspires and invigorates people around you
• Experience with SAP ERP and associated systems
• Experience in change management, workshop design and facilitation to solve complex problems
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Information Systems or Commerce
• Ideally CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
• CI/Lean skills desirable
