About the Role
The Resource Engineering Technology (REST) Principal Full Stack Developer will play a crucial role in the successful design, development & implementation of Mine Engineering & Planning solutions across BHP’s global Resource Engineering domain. The REST Full Stack Developer values simplicity and is unafraid to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve a well-built and sustainable digital solution that provides maximum value to our stakeholders. This role can be based in any of our offices located in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide!
Key responsibilities include:
- Designs high-performing and user-centric software that meets business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Uses relevant programming paradigms to write and refactor quality code for software, in a way that can be continuously tested and integrated.
- Monitors and optimises the performance of software across the lifecycle, including the potential retirement/decommissioning of software.
- Defines the testing approach, maintains testing environments, and leverages test automation and continuous testing approaches to continually enhance the quality of software.
- Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
- Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Be hands on and engage stakeholders in technical presentations, demonstrations, and product walk-throughs.
- Works with the Product Owner to develop and maintain the roadmap for Resource Engineering solutions across BHP managing the overall deployment landscape to be efficient and effective.
- Constantly looking for better ways of solving digital limitations or constraints and is not afraid of challenging the status quo.
About You
To be successful in this role, you are a person with a drive for continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies. Additional qualities and experience you possess include:
- Can demonstrate experience using modern programming languages and frameworks to implement and deliver enterprise, cloud-based digital solutions.
- You enjoy keeping up to date with the latest happenings in the technology market and bring your expertise in designing and developing enterprise, cloud-based applications to the table.
- Strong knowledge of IT frameworks, standards, and best practices, and have had exposure to implementing enterprise level cloud native solutions, cloud certifications are advantageous.
- You will have exceptional planning skills with a focus on attention to detail, be action oriented and results driven. Your excellent communication and collaboration skills make you adept at driving and implementing change and contributing to a wide range of projects. You have demonstrated the ability to influence across a variety of levels in the business.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or STEM related discipline.
- Experience working in international organisations.
- Experience of c#.net, AWS, Angular and React
Location
In this full-time role, there is flexibility to be based at the BHP Perth or Brisbane office.
You will be working Monday – Friday and we offer flexible work arrangements.
