About the Role
We are seeking a GIS professional to join the newly formed Perth-based Geomatics team, reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning Integration. Our Geomatics team manages large scale raster regional imagery and digital terrain services, and numerous vector services primarily in an ESRI enterprise GIS environment. We focus on providing our customers with integrated data solutions, and there are thousands of users of our services across different applications and environments.
In your role of Principal Geomatics you will have the following key responsibilities:
- Support the Mine Planning Integration Superintendent on providing leadership and coaching to the Geomatics specialists’ members of the team, contribute to developing the strategy for the team and applications, as well as identification of continues improvement initiatives
- Create web app-based products and database management, maintenance, improvements, and scalability.
- Development of standards and procedures to support our people and complement systems of work, security and accessibility.
- Manage systems, datasets, and server-side software such as the ArcGIS enterprise environment: ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Data store, and Enterprise SDE
- Excellent communication skills, builds and fosters effective relationships with others.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and challenges and formulate smart GIS solutions with emphasis on automation.
- Provide GIS support to customers by way of coaching, but also to work on improving their way of working, through use of our GIS platform, standards, and procedures.
- Actively seeks continuous improvement opportunities and improving our work effectiveness.
About You
To be successful in the role, your experience and skills should include the following:
- A demonstrated experience with ESRI enterprise GIS environment
- A demonstrated ability to create, manage and deliver spatial data products (front and back-end) and improvement projects.
- Proficient in coding with some of the following languages as desirable (Python, CSS, C#, HTML and Java).
- A demonstrated ability to develop web-based apps and back-end processes to support the effectiveness of the product and service.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A tertiary level qualification in a Spatial sciences discipline such as GIS or Surveying is preferred but not mandatory, with relevant skills and experience being considered more important.
- The following technical skills and application knowledge would be advantageous, but not all are mandatory:
- Proven experience in both front-end and back-end aspects of web-based products
- Web app creation via ESRI’s ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder and Geocortex
- Experience with online data management via Geocortex
- GIS Analytics and Insights
- SAFE Software FME Desktop and Server
- Publication of web mapping services through ESRI applications
