About the Role
This is an opportunity to join the Asset Performance and Improvement team at BHP where you will lead transformational strategy and performance improvement projects for the business across our range of operations in Copper, Nickel, Iron ore and Metallurgical Coal. We are currently recruiting for a role in our Improvement Programs team that will be a subject matter expert on Load and Haul mining systems. Reporting to the Manager Improvement Programs, you will:
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver transformational improvement programs, from the initial diagnostic phase through to implementation on any of our operations, or biggest business challenges around the globe.
- Contribute broadly to best practice capturing and replication across our operations.
- Coach and embed improvement best practices in operations-based improvement teams
You’ll be working closely with a fantastic team of passionate professionals and further supported by our Operational Performance Insights team and a network of local Asset Performance and Improvement professionals.
About You
Do you thrive on difficult challenges? Do you see opportunity everywhere? Do you need to be part of the solution, rather than just identifying a problem?
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Significant experience in Load and Haul operations and the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity, think strategically, solve problems collaboratively, and analyse, synthesise and communicate insights using data to drive real operational change.
- Good knowledge with core elements of load and haul operations such as planning, coordination, execution and control/dispatch and prepared to bring insight from both detailed data analysis and operational observation.
- It is not mandatory; however, it will be advantageous if you have experience working in operations leadership, planning, strategy or performance improvement divisions of a resources or industrial company, or relevant experience from a top consulting firm.
We value our relationship with our customers (operations globally) and provide trusted insights to both senior decision makers and the front line of our operations, so attention to detail is key, and we love people that can bring an insatiable curiosity to understanding and resolving problems and have demonstrated this in the past.
If this sounds like you and you want to work with some of the best in the business, across the globe, on high impact projects to deliver rapid results we encourage you to apply.
Location
In this full-time permanent position, you will be base at our corporate office either Perth or Brisbane. You will be working on a Monday-Friday roster while a Flexi work arrangement is also offered.
