About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Minerals Australia – Regional Procurement team as a Principal Global Travel.
Reporting to the Lead – Regional Procurement, this role is responsible for the travel governance support and procurement expertise of the Global Travel portfolio; from full contract lifecycle management including supplier relationship management through to category strategy development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional looking to join a diverse and high performing team.
In this role you will:
• Be responsible for the portfolio management of the Global Travel category - including the Travel Management Company contract, Global Hotel Program and connection to Global Airline program, traveller security and hire car agreements. • Develop and maintain the Category Strategy, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage change • Provide strategic procurement and Contract Owner support throughout the contract life-cycle, working closely with Contract Owners, Assets and Functions. • Build strong, trusted, cross-cultural relationships with key asset stakeholders, global functional stakeholders and suppliers • Analyse key external trends, emerging risks, new technologies and global sustainability opportunities • Drive collaboration by participating in cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce TCO and mitigate safety and security risks • Understand the Voice of the Customer - Identify opportunities to embed improvements whilst delivering in accordance to governance requirements, operational plans, BHP’s purpose and contract milestones • Management of technology improvements, ADHOC travel queries, data privacy and cybersecurity requirements, and support of business travel policy governance
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to support the development and implementation of complex, regional and / or global categories strategies • Demonstrated experience in contract management • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders (including senior leadership) across multiple geographical regions • Identifies risks and appropriate commercial control options • Exercises sound judgement, critical thinking, validate assumptions and understand stakeholder requirements • Approaches work with a strategic mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation
