About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent for Asset Health, we are seeking an experienced health professional to support our South Australian operations as Principal Health. You will be an integral member in a team of dedicated health professionals enabling the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce. This is a unique opportunity to lead the growth and improvement of health in a complex and rewarding setting, with this role providing extensive personal and professional development.
The role is a job share, Permanent part-time position based in Adelaide with some site travel. The opportunity requires you to provide leadership, coaching, strategic direction and expert support on BHP health management systems and processes.
You will be required to:
- Provide strategic direction for health and wellbeing at Olympic Dam, through working closely with Hygiene, Radiation, Safety and Emergency Services team members in building capability across the asset.
- Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and analyse emerging health and wellbeing trends, providing technical advice and coaching to the line on mitigation of health risks.
- Support risk management and Critical Control design.
- Deliver on external and business requirements, including design of proactive health and wellbeing initiatives, and psychosocial risk management.
- Lead the implementation of health within Copper SA’s Integrated Management System, including support to implementing health requirements at Oak Dam and improving medical governance processes
About You
This role will suit an experienced and self-motivated health professional who has a proven history as an effective coach, with strong communication and engagement skills and a solid record of achieving results through influence and mentoring.
- Tertiary qualifications in Medical or related Allied Health field
- Excellent relationship building and people skills to deliver health and wellbeing initiatives, and to coach our customers.
- Solution focused and action orientated with the capability to meet deadlines and drive continuous improvement.
- Previous exposure to the mining and minerals processing industries is preferable.
- Experience working with Australian and International standards.
- Demonstrated understanding, interpretation and implementation of Australian and South Australian legislation (inc Work, Health, and Safety Act and Regulations).
- Working experience in risk, health and safety management systems.
- Experience in developing standard operating procedures or quality documentation.
- Experience in delivery of programs at an organisational level.
- Exposure to BHP operating systems is highly desirable.
