We are looking for an experienced Principal Advisor, Data Governance to take overall accountability for People data policies and processes including data quality, governance, compliance, ethics, security and privacy. The role will also support the implementation of a new People Data Lakehouse platform including the establishment and execution of standards and tools.
The People Data Management portfolio will help to steer the People function to become more data driven in decision making and utilizing analytics to develop actionable insight. This includes implementing a future state data governance architecture and creating information strategies around data quality, metadata, metrics, and information governance.
Reporting to the Data Management Programme Lead, your key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the People data governance in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactively champion the value of data as a strategic business asset
- Take accountability for developing and implementing data and analytics governance including data policies, standards, catalogue and definitions
- Work with appropriate groups (e.g., enterprise governance, Workday project data leads, GPO leads, People Experience, Areas of Expertise and functional / business HR representatives) where required to exchange information and resources.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with quality and governance standards.
- Ensure good Data quality management, data security & access, and data governance programme metrics and performance
- Provide training and user support for data governance tools
- Identify, coordinate and engage with data stewards and internal partners to drive data governance outcomes
- Promote participation and buy-in from across the People function and organisational people leaders for data governance activities
- Accountability for the accuracy, uniformity, consistency of the People data assets past, present and future
What you’ll bring
As a successful candidate of this role, you are recognised as an expert in data governance and able to demonstrate your depth and breadth of expertise. You will guide others in resolving complex data governance issues based on solutions and procedures. You will serve as a best practice resource within the People Function and will lead the data governance work stream of the Data Lakehouse project as a Key part of the Data Management portfolio. You will also train or mentor less experienced members of the team in the area of data governance.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Manage individual knowledge levels in the field of data governance and contribute to those of the team, identifying areas for growth and development where possible.
- Demonstrated experience partnering across the organisation and with external partners to deliver fit for purpose outcomes through teamwork and strong alignment on objectives.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders & senior leaders
