About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Human Resources (HR) Consulting to join our HR function in Melbourne, Australia.

As Principal, you will support the delivery and execution of our HR priorities for our Assets and Functions within Australia and Asia. We are engaged by the business for specific advice, projects or initiatives including advising the business on talent in line with BHP’s globally consistent approach, managing high performance, culture, leadership capability, organisational changes, program deployments and major projects. 

Reporting to the Head of HR for Global Functions, you will work directly with our business stakeholders on:

  • The delivery of large-scale HR projects and initiatives
  • Advising our Leaders on managing high performing teams and team effectiveness
  • Leading initiatives focused on improving workplace culture, including troubleshooting and diagnosing areas of concern
  • Providing advice on organisation design, workforce planning, including spans of control, layers and changes to organisational structure, including leading the implementation of new structures and management of change
  • Providing advice on global and regional reward topics
  • Supporting functions to define and champion our inclusion and diversity agenda
  • Liaising and effectively managing key internal and external stakeholders on aspects of our projects
  • Contributing to the principle of ‘One HR’ and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

You will be a HR professional who possesses generalist knowledge and experience across the HR spectrum - including performance, change management, organisational design, culture and foundational HR processes. 

You will have a track record of leading effective and efficient project teams to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes for their customers. 

You will have experience working in dynamic and fast-paced environments, ideally within an HR Operations, HR Business Partner or HR Consulting role.

You will have a natural eye for detail and a willingness apply new ways of working. 

Experience in or knowledge of Project Management and Agile methodologies and/or experience on project studies preferable.
