About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Governance and Improvement, you will responsible for providing governance advice relating to internal audit, and leading governance and continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function to drive improved quality and efficiency.  The role supports the internal audit methodology development and works with the audit delivery teams to identify improvement opportunities relating to the systems and process associated with the planning, execution and reporting of internal audits.

You will be required to be innovative, creative, insightful, collaborative, and responsive to key internal stakeholders.

Your key accountabilities will also include: •    Improvement of BHP’s global audit methodologies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, professional standards, stakeholder needs and innovation changes.   •    Manage Internal Audit governance activities to ensure continued compliance with internal and external internal audit standards. •    Apply deep technical expertise to provide advice and direction to the Function on internal audit related requirements and professional standards. •    Identify innovation and continuous improvement projects through assisting with systemic issues analysis and gathering insights – internally and externally. This may include benchmarking (formal and informal) efforts to validate performance and identify opportunities for improvement. •    Support the management and implementation of change initiatives within IA •    Conduct analysis to support specialist advice to the business and the Internal Audit delivery teams, relating to application of the internal IA Methodology, professional standards, and their impact on BHP assurance requirements •    Provide advice to audit delivery teams on questions that emerge during audit scenarios; •    Provide input into the design and delivery of global training for Internal Audit •    Provide input into the improvement of Internal Audit systems (e.g. RSA Archer)

About You

•    A developed understanding of governance and internal audit methodology, with proven experience working within internal audit for a large, complex and global organisation •    Previous exposure to using Agile methodology/principles will prove advantageous •    Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills •    Ability to build credibility with diverse stakeholders and cross functional teams •    Well rounded project management skills with clear attention to detail •    Action orientated with a continuous improvement mindset
