PERTH OFFICE

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a two-year fixed term contract position on 40-hour working week

The publication of the first two IFRS® Sustainability Disclosure Standards [1] is a key milestone in the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)’s vision – to create a global baseline for investor-focused sustainability reporting that local jurisdictions can build on.

As Principal ISSB Readiness, you will be responsible for managing the implementation of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards within South32.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • coordinating efforts across South32’s operations and functions to achieve compliance with applicable ISSB reporting requirements by FY25; and
  • addressing related governance requirements to ensure that South32 establishes effective structures and processes to support ISSB compliance on an ongoing basis.
  • Project planning and management
  • Gap analysis and remediation
  • Governance and reporting

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Technical and applied knowledge in sustainability-related reporting and disclosure issues in a multi-location, diversified company context.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, coordination, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with corporate reporting frameworks and disclosure requirements
  • Strong governance, risk and controls experience in a large complex organisation.
  • Informed on emerging trends and best practices in sustainability
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams to embrace sustainable practices

Qualifications for this position are:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), post graduate level qualifications desirable
