About The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the BMA Engineering Standards & Systems Team. You’ll work to define the minimum standards required across the Asset to keep our people safe and comply with internal and external requirements. You’ll work closely with site engineering, maintenance, and project teams to ensure sustainable implementation of, and ongoing compliance to, these standards.

You will join a team of Principal Engineers across multiple disciplines who support the operations through strong technical knowledge and ongoing governance.

This role will also support the BMA Equipment Compliance system through stakeholder management, technical queries and ongoing updates to the underpinning technical requirements.

This role is based in Brisbane (or Moranbah) and you will work a 5/2 roster (M-F).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering advice, across fixed and mobile plant, to operational and Project teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence
  • Technical document writing
  • Lead and participate in Risk Assessments

About You

  • Mandatory - Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mandatory - Experience in mining, heavy industry or similar environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain)
