•    Provide leadership and expertise relating to Mining Engineering •    A centralised technical role with large scope that guides the operation of our sites •    Based in Sydney 2000 We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be accountable for developing, implementing and monitoring Yancoals' Mine Planning System, standards and processes. You will provide leadership and expertise in technical, operational and financial functions relating to Mining Engineering with respect to site operations, major projects and merger & acquisition activity. •    Identify and analyse technical risks and opportunities to mitigate risk to the business •    Design innovative measures to support operational continuity •    Facilitate the development of the annual LOM Plan, 5 Year Plan & Budget for the operating sites •    Develop and manage annual budgets and be accountable for progress

Skills and Experience

•    A bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or in a related engineering discipline •    Experience in a senior technical roles for large coal mines, ideally both open cut and underground. •    Project management experience at various stages of a project development system •    Demonstrated technical ability in strategic mine planning.
