About the Role

Leads a team focused on pay compliance data analytics, monitoring and reporting, addressing system and data issues and provide guidance to all teams within BHP. Manages and maintains analytics tools and dashboard/s to monitor pay compliance across BHP. Works with SMEs to address data variances and gaps aligned to existing calculation methodologies and BHP risk appetite/profile. Uses data driven insights to recommend solutions for operational fixes and ongoing improvement.

  • Managing, assessing and remediating risk across the hire to retire value chain, and driving compliance of payroll functional processes aligned to BHP’s employment obligations, risk and governance protocols. 
  • Applies an understanding of technical systems, systems integration and data models when conducting work activities and executes and governs technical system legal requirements to maintain and improve the efficiency and compliance of functional integrity systems across BHP. 
  • Wrangles, cleanses and manages data/metadata to maintain the quality and integrity of BHP data and ensure compliance with data security, privacy and legal requirements. 
  • Manages new and existing sets of master data, runs and cleanses reports to remove errors and improve the quality of master data across BHP. 
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives. 
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making. 
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.   
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a related discipline (Masters of Data Science / Degree in Applied Mathematics / Computer Science / Engineering or Data Analytics / Science) 
  • Working knowledge of common data analytics concepts (e.g. ETL, joins, aggregation). 
  • Extensive proficiency in programming language/s or data analytics tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, etc.). 
  • Ability to conceptualise and solve complex or ambiguous payroll related data problems. 
  • Extensive knowledge of HR and Payroll systems and data from various / multiple systems and sources. 
  • Understanding of Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, superannuation, leave and other entitlements is advantageous.
