About the Role

As Principal Performance Management, you will work in a team that is responsible for providing performance insights to deliver improvements in BHP Maintenance performance globally.  You will work collaboratively within a team of Performance Principals and Specialists, and Data Analytics Principals and Specialists; reporting to the Manager Performance and Data Analytics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of maintenance performance of a specific BHP asset, based on an understanding of the business plan, strategic priorities, and performance against a plan for the Asset.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in maintenance performance through monitoring and analysis of data, standards, systems, and processes to support improvement for the Assets (working with performance specialist, data analyst, and data scientist to deep dive to the level necessary to determine performance gaps and provide insights)
  • Support reporting cycles, including reviewing data for accuracy and reasonableness, providing insightful commentary, and engaging with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead/support performance dialogue routines, at numerous levels of the business, for the Asset to ensure that identified performance gaps are known and understood and actions are being undertaken to improve performance. 
  • Assimilate and analyse complex information from disparate data sources and provide sound and insightful commentary for senior leaders.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills including verbal and written for senior business stakeholders.  Experience delivering technical change projects will be considered beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of Maintenance Processes and Management systems including planning, reliability, and asset management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability.  A strong ability to frame complex problems simply, identify discrepancies and trends, and develop sound conclusions based on a combination of data and experience. 
  • Experience in leading small teams of specialists in delivering detailed reporting, analysis, and insights for senior business leaders would be beneficial.
  • Enthusiast with strong leadership abilities with exceptional communication skills and is passionate about delivering extraordinary results.

Location  In this full-time permanent position, you will be based in our Brisbane office while a flexible work arrangement is offered.
