About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated person to join our team and fill the role in a secondment capacity. The role of Principal Planner, reporting directly to the General Manager, presents a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a fully autonomous haulage operation and a wide range of functions within BMA and BHP, while attending Senior Leadership Team meetings and gaining insight into how we run our business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team in delivering cultural, safety, productivity and cost outcomes
- Delivering communication strategies and providing options and analysis to the General Manager to aid in decision making
- Acting as the conduit for functional partner relationships (e.g. BOS, HR, ER, Communications, Communities)
- Working closely with the BOS team on delivery of deployment acceleration and OEI preparation
- Organisation of leadership strategy workshops, customer and BHP/BMA site visits, and General Manager engagements
- Attending frontline BOS routines and providing coaching
- Connecting people to solve problems
- Managing Daunia and General Manager calendars, and performing other administrative tasks as required
The opportunity is being offered on a 4/3 roster. The length of the contract will be approximately 12 months (subject to change).
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across multiple departments and functions
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder groups to align and collect information
- Ability to appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to be organised and proactive in your approach to work and multi-task while prioritising a variety of complex tasks
- Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and communicative skills
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and BHP internal systems including 1SAP & SharePoint
- Experience in either direct Supervision/ Superintendent level positions
- Experience in the Coal Mining industry is desirable but not essential.
