About the Role
Provides planning and scheduling excellence across a portfolio of projects, including governance, forecasting and performance insights that enable safe, predictable, and value-driven project delivery.
Accountabilities:
- Develops and communicates insights that guide data driven action and decision making.
- Develops safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies to maximise portfolio value and enhance improvement and innovation.
- Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.
- Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives across projects at BHP.
- Applies and evaluates change management tools, methods, data, purpose, value and strategic direction.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Act as the Planning & Scheduling Subject Matter Expert, driving planning excellence through technical governance, assurance, mentoring, continuous improvement and the application of best-practice scheduling, forecasting, risk and performance management methodologies
- Provides functional leadership and assurance for Earned Value Management practices across projects, ensuring consistent application of EV methodologies, performance measurement baselines, forecasting techniques and portfolio reporting.
- Provides expert guidance on critical path management, recovery planning and scenario modelling to support delivery of project and portfolio objectives.
- Establishes and governs integrated planning standards including development of resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
About You
- Extensive experience in project planning and scheduling within mining, resources, energy or major capital project environments.
- Expert Primavera P6 capability, including development and management of integrated, resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
- Demonstrated experience developing and baselining integrated project schedules across all project phases, from study and initiation through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Experience in critical path management, forecasting, schedule optimisation and recovery planning.
- Experience conducting schedule assurance reviews and providing independent challenge to improve schedule quality, credibility and delivery outcomes.
- Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across projects, operational and contractor environments.
- Experience operating within complex Owner's Team environments, integrating and assuring schedules across multiple contractors, delivery partners, and project stakeholders is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Power BI and advanced data visualisation/reporting skills would be advantageous.
