Principal Process Safety and Risk
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth (Wednesday)
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing process safety and risk assessments on the ore processing facility
- Preliminary and detailed safety in design for process, infrastructure, equipment taking into account construction methodology, operations and maintenance philosophies.
- Identifying engineering controls and improvements following incidents, hazard reports and risk assessments
- Planning and involvement in process safety risk assessment studies - including HAZID, HAZOP and SIL Allocation, preparing reports and supporting the tracking of actions through to closure.
- Facilitate process safety risk assessment studies and monitor actions to completion
- Supporting decision making to demonstrate ALARP
- Compiling safety in design reports summarising the overall ALARP demonstration
- Contribute to the development of standards, procedures / processes, guidelines and training materials for the effective implementation of the Process Safety Management System
- Consult with key stakeholders and provide input to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Process Safety Management System
- Ensure process safety standards are applied consistently to all phases of projects
- Coach and develop Fortescue personnel and contractors in the implementation of the Process Safety Management System
- Monitor H&S statutory and system compliance requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS, risk, process engineering, process safety management or related field
- Experience in ore processing or related industry
- Knowledge of Australian and applicable international codes and standards as well as the applicable statutory requirements
- Safety in design engineering experience
- Experience with definition and application of control measures and performance standards
- Experience in delivery and facilitation of process safety studies
- Excellent engagement skills across all business levels and with both staff and contractor
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
- Listing on the National Engineering Register (NER)
- Registered Process Safety Professional (IChemE)
