Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a 12-month fixed-term position based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Principal Category Management – Technology, you will provide expert advice and execute Technology Category Management activities in line with category and sourcing plans to increase productivity, lower costs, manage risks and unlock organisational value safely and sustainably.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Design sourcing strategies that integrate safety and sustainability objectives and deliver mutual benefits over short-, medium-, and long-term technology and innovation contracts.
  • Lead strategic negotiations of information technology and innovation contracts.
  • Execution of initiatives in key Technology sub-categories including Software development and maintenance, Connectivity and Operational Technology.
  • Manage supplier relationships.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Significant Strategic Sourcing experience applied to Information Technology and Innovation category.
  • Previous experience in Mining and Metals or Construction industry.

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (preferred), Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, or related disciplines.
