About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our Procurement team as a Principal Professional Labor and Services in the Enterprise & Innovation Procurement team. 

The Principal will manage a portfolio of Professional Labor and Services commercial activities, and partner with Assets and Functions globally to support robust contract management and strategic sourcing activities. This role will develop partnerships and strategies with suppliers to build ongoing value. This role will suit an emerging leader who will help drive a high performance culture and support development, coaching and capability building of other team members. This role is responsible for influencing internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve strategic, social value and decarbonization priorities within their portfolio and the broader Professional Labor & Services categories.  

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and negotiation of strategic commercial agreements
  • Build trusted relationships with key asset and functional stakeholders 
  • Responsible for understanding the hygiene of portfolio and assist Category Leads in allocating resources to manage portfolio effectively and manage performance to plans (e.g. Supply management, contract management, governance, value delivery, pipeline build)
  • Responsible for understanding contribution to Procurement business plan and have agreed plans in place to meet deliverables and Procurement targets. 
  • Identification and management of Category risks (including but not limited to security of supply, reputation)
  • Keeping abreast of key external trends both functionally and Supply market perspective, new innovation and newly emerging risks 
  • Driving collaboration with senior stakeholders across the region to identify and execute opportunities to reduce external spend 
  • Actively engaging with stakeholder groups to provide commercially focused coaching and mentoring 

About You

  • Ability to manage complex, regional and / or global categories. Experience with Labour or Professional services is valued but not essential. 
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across multiple geographical regions
  • Ability to synthesize and present complex information in a strategic manner.
  • Role models an ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Advanced entrepreneurial mindset & ability to lead change
  • Skilled in conflict management & facilitation
  • Skilled in coaching & mentoring of team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
