Principal Project Manager

Work Location: Eliwana

  • Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People.

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

In this role you will support the site General Manager and senior leadership to ensure to multiple projects teams deliverables allow for smooth site readiness handover to be met and achieved. Projects will vary in scope and size deliverable. You will have fully responsible for ensuring the achievement of the project’s agreed KPIs, including in relation to HSE, implementation schedule, cost.

This role will also have senior site executive responsibilities and is a pathway to leadership roles through this exposure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Represent the site GM in project sign off processes.
  • Define the intended strategy to allow for new site activity to captured in OPEX and CAPEX budget allocations adequately.
  • Collaborate on work methodology and approach with corporate and site teams on site activity
  • Influence teams to enable and support site and team business strategy measures to be achieved.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industrial Project engineering background (Process / civil / mechanical/ electrical / utilities / environment) beneficial not essential
  • Significant experience in leading large projects is essential
  • Strong demonstrated collaboration skills to influence teams is essential  
  • Process-driven professional with a strong ability to manage complex contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple works fronts across different project scopes at one time.
  •  Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
