About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Rehabilitation to join our Biodiversity and Rehabilitation team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team that embodies the deliverance of a strong rehabilitation performance. This role is to support our Newman Operations and can be offered on a flexible roster including FIFO, Residential to Newman or Perth Based with site travel. Flexible work options are considered.
Reporting to the Superintendent Contaminated Sites and Rehabilitation, your primary responsibility will be to identify, coordinate and deliver strong rehabilitation performance supporting WAIOs operational teams. You will provide deep functional expertise, working with multidisciplinary teams within the business.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also:
- Lead the identification, design, and continuous improvement of Asset-level rehabilitation standards, systems and procedures required to manage risks and opportunities, controls, legal obligations and Our Requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Line teams, HSE teams and relevant Functional teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulators and industry bodies for rehabilitation related matters.
- Maintain and improve the rehabilitation aspects of Environment Management System (EMS) including supporting of ISO re-certification
- Develop, coordinate and maintain rehabilitation monitoring programs, ensuring the program is suitable for all internal and external reporting requirements.
- Ensure rehabilitation databases are fit for purpose and can adapt to the changing regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and execute relevant internal and external rehabilitation reporting.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and support to internal and external personnel in rehabilitation implementation, research and performance.
- Coordinate native seed collection, storage and treatments for WAIO rehabilitation program.
- Support development and implementation of research programs to deliver cost effective rehabilitation outcomes.
- Work with Group to review changing community and regulator expectations using adaptive management to develop and embed rehabilitation relinquishment targets.
About You
The successful candidate will have significant experience in effectively managing all aspects of mine site rehabilitation and a demonstrated ability to influence decision and performance at both operational and senior managment levels.
Your significant experience in effectively managing internal and external stakeholders as well as your highly developed communication, negotiation and facilitation skills will see you well in this role.
To be considered for this role, you may have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Extensive experience in operational rehabilitation management, within the resources industry
- Strong understanding of rehabilitation techniques and management practices
