ABOUT THE ROLE

The Opportunity - Fixed Term (18-month position) This role will preferably be based at our office in the heart of the Perth CBD. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)

The fixed-term position is a great opportunity for Principal Resource & Reserve Governance to join South32 and be responsible for overseeing the implementation of level 2 governance processes for Resource and Reserve Governance and assisting the global leadership of South32 Resource, Reserve & Exploration outcomes reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Resource & Reserve Governance, other key role accountabilities will include:

• Plan and coordinate activities associated with reporting across all mining operations.
• Maintain and manage records for each operation per regulatory requirements

About You

• Prior experience in a variety of operational and technical positions, including knowledge of mining operations
• Knowledge of resource estimation across a variety of commodities and mining operations
• Planning and coordination of activities and personnel
• Auditing & training skills
• Overriding commitment to Health & Safety and sustainable development
• Technically capable, curious, and inquiring
• Effective relationship and people management skills
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• A demonstrated capacity for attention to detail
• Have a sound sense of logic and act with credibility
• Logical aptitude 
• Efficient problem-analysis and solution-providing skills
• Strong and effective coordination skills

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geoscience or equivalent
• Proficiency in other languages is an advantage
