Position Title: Principal Revenue Accountant

Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to work in an innovative and fast paced environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will lead the Revenue team and be responsible for all revenue accounting and accounts receivable requirements. The role is highly integrated with the sales and marketing function. 

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Analysis of revenue results, including identification of drivers for variances from comparative periods, budgets and forecasts and analysis and review of the accounts receivable function
  • Understanding and application of revenue accounting standard and perform month end accounting for revenue including journal posting and account reconciliation
  • Review and management of the Anaplan revenue reporting system and reconciliation of SAP to the Anaplan revenue system
  • Preparation and submission of the quarterly royalty payment and liaising with the Sales and Marketing team on revenue matters
  • Development and implementation of revenue policies and procedures
  • Development and improvement of revenue systems and managing the Revenue team

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team 
  • CA or CPA qualification and SAP experience essential 
  • Systems mindset and revenue recognition exposure 
  • Bulk commodity experience 
  • Understanding of relevant accounting policy
  • Good attention to detail and reconciliation skills and good ability to liaise and communicate with stakeholders
