About the Role
The Principal Risk Business Partner (RBP) acts as trusted risk advisor to global Functions, supporting the achievement of strategic and Functional objectives and protecting and creating value through risk expertise, oversight, challenge and insight. The role can be based in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Singapore. Key Responsibilities include • Contribute to the development and delivery of the risk vision and plan for Functions • Trusted advisor providing risk tools, process, oversight and insights to inform decision-making and governance across Functions lead teams • Applying a deep understanding of the risk framework, including risk appetite, architecture, governance, process and systems, to drive consistent and quality application. • Work collaboratively across and lead through influence the RBP network to support globally consistent advice on Functions risks, as well as connecting Functions and Asset personnel to share insight and expertise and address global opportunities. • Lead Functional risk improvement projects, escalating broader opportunities and providing inputs and locally advocating for global improvements and requirements. • Monitor risk performance, capability and culture to build a deep understanding of relative strengths and gaps to inform action and reporting. • Deliver field coaching, training, storytelling and other prioritised actions to build risk capability and drive risk culture uplift. • Identify and address opportunities to integrate risk into Functional routines, processes and mindset, leveraging BOS to remove waste and focus on value add activities.
About You
• Professional post graduate risk management qualification through an accredited organisation (preferred) • Degree in relevant field such as engineering, technology, finance or other relevant field • Significant experience in risk management in an operational or strategic environment, with extensive knowledge of professional standards (ISO31000, COSO, and RIMS) • Extensive experience liaising with, and influencing, diverse stakeholder groups spanning functional disciplines, diverse leadership teams from multiple geographies, commodities, jurisdictions, and senior executives. • Experience leading teams • Project management experience highly regarded • Strong analytical skills and evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations, with attention to detail and quality control to ensure work is factually accurate and free from error. • Global perspective and understanding of mining and processing industries
