We are looking for a motivated leader to work with the Process Engineering and Major Hazards Leadership group as Principal Sampling Lab and Quality.

This is a great opportunity to provision subject matter expert advice to optimise practices of sampling, chemical analysis and physical measurement of iron ore. Ensuring the required accuracy and precision while maintaining whole of life maintenance strategies and quality assurance programs.

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services and working in a collaborative community within Process Engineering and Major Hazards, you will:

• Provide framework and guidelines for WOL asset maintenance strategy and tactics, technical oversight and consistency of these plans
• Develop sustaining capital requirements for assets (i.e. new, replacement, obsolescence)
• Govern sampling and analysis standards and oversee embedding of these into the business
• Provide technical assurance to studies, sustaining capital and major capital project teams
• Escalation point for subject matter expertise in Sampling and Laboratory assets
• Own and develop basis of design and performance criteria for Sampling and Laboratory assets including Laboratories.
• Set value levers and frameworks for asset fleet improvement programs
• Understand and integrate industry best practice for assets
• Accountable for correct system information with regards to Laboratory information Systems

• Appropriate tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Science / Engineering)
• Experience in managing a quality system to ISO9001
• Laboratory management experience desirable
• Excellent people, communication and influencing skills
• Interpret and implement systems, processes and procedures
• Ability to challenge assumptions and deliver initiatives to improve projects and processes

Where you’ll be workingOur integrated iron ore network is supported by our Operations Centre (OC) in Perth, a state-of-the-art facility that enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location.

The Centre incorporates visualisation and collaboration tools to provide real-time information across our demand chain and allows us to optimise our mining, maintenance and logistic activities across the Pilbara in a way never before possible. Located near the Perth domestic airport, the OC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, and ports from 1,500km away.
