WA Major Projects is seeking a motivated and innovative person that can support the integration of the Social Value Framework into WA Major Projects. As the Principal Social Value, you will Reporting to the Lead Principal Social Value based in Perth.

Working out of our Perth office for our Programme Management team, you will support the development and implementation of the Social Value strategy in WA Major Projects. You will work collaboratively with multiple projects to identify social value initiatives.

The core accountabilities of this role include:

  • Supporting WA Major Projects investments to develop and facilitate delivery of the social value plan and assist the projects to identify social value initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Project teams, Business Partners and other key stakeholders across BHP.
  • Development of social value plans for individual projects.
  • Ensure alignment to the Global Social Value Framework and Minerals Australia Projects Social Value Plan.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities to promote social value and best practice activities in support of the social value ambitions of the Company.
  • Support sustainable systems and routines to promote and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Facilitate root cause problem solving to identify potential initiatives and projects.

  • Proven track record in teamwork and collaborative efforts to achieve the program outcomes. 
  • Experience in business planning and project management.
  • Must be self-motivated with demonstrated strength in navigating complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills, to develop and guide planning in a dynamic and complex setting. 
  • Intellectual capacity to keep up with the high-paced and complex operating environment of BHP.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and organisational experience in a global or multi-jurisdictional role.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in the resources industry.
  • Familiarity and understanding of the Businesses Social Value purpose.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to recognise where value can be added and has the organisational and influencing skills to deliver against commitments.
  • Ability to promote and lead change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across and communicate with all levels of the organisation.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.

You will be working on a Monday-Friday roster while a Flexi work arrangement is also offered.
