About the Role
As a Principal Solution Architect, you will be part of technical leadership team supporting Digital Factory projects that fundamentally change BHP’s performance across safety, productivity and people performance. The Digital Factory is BHP’s approach to rapid design and development of digital products (software-focused, minimal or no hardware) to unlock BMA’s digital potentials by embracing agile principles and team agility.
The Principal Solution Architect will be critical in the successful development and implementation of digital products.
In this role you will work over Digital Factory Domains (aligned to BMA business capabilities) with software engineers (data and full-stack), UI/UX designers, business SMEs, Agile Leads, and the Product Owners. Your primary responsibility will be to own the system design; to guide technical decisions with the technical team members; and to consider business drivers in conjunction with the product leadership team.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in architecting, designing and building software applications.
- Significant experience leading design of cloud native software using AWS and/or Azure
- Strong understanding on Agile Architecture Practices/Principles and proven records of leading agile architecture/design activities in agile delivery environment
- Strong understanding on Just In Time Design Practices
- Experience in Data Platform and relevant architectures
- Experience in Agile Development and technical backlog management
- Understanding of holistic custom software development technical practices, frameworks and tools.
- Strong understanding of holistic enterprise architecture and interplay of analytical components with enterprise foundational components (data architecture/governance, security, etc.)
- Development background using well known server side (preferred languages .NET and/or Python) and/or front end technologies (preferred language React) preferred
- Nice to have: TOGAF (Open Group) or similar, e.g. Zachman Certified Architect, Open Group Certified Architect
