About the Role

Our team provides design, engineering, advisory and governance services, to our BMA, NSWEC and Olympic Dam businesses, across QLD and SA.

Based at our Brisbane office on a Monday-Friday Roster, you will be reporting to the Manager Solution Architecture & Systems Engineering, your responsibilities include:

  • Design and document technology solutions that achieve intended goals and meet functional, availability, reliability, security, and supportability requirements
  • Elicit and document solution requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders (both technical, and non-technical)
  • Work with highly complex solutions across IT and OT environments
  • Work with relevant vendors/stakeholders to select appropriate products for needs
  • Assist project teams with estimates and solution costs (implementation and ongoing costs)
  • Provides specialist advisory on BHP architectural standards, governance frameworks and emerging technologies
  • Work within processes established in the Architecture Charter, and by the Technology Architecture Board, to ensure deigns comply to standards and any exceptions, managed
  • Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
  • Communicate complexity through use of clear and succinct written work, and simple (yet insightful), diagrams and models
  • Responsible for managing your individual work plan, to ensure continuity of cost-recovered work, and working with management where there are gaps
  • Meet team KPI’s that include Field Leadership expectations, proactive problem solving, and cost-recovery expectations
  • Lead technical teams to common purpose and key outcomes, within a project

This role will require someone that is able to understand what is crucially important for a given problem/solution, is a fantastic communicator (both verbally and written), who can Earn trust through technical excellence and professional behaviour – becoming a trusted advisor.  

About You

To be successful with this role you will need:

  • Positive attitude to support the business
  • Understanding of mining and resource extraction business operations and processes.
  • Understanding of the mining domain and value chain.
  • Understanding of IT and operational technology (OT) from a design, implementation and run perspective.
  • Works well under pressure without compromising the quality of work
  • Strong problem-solving ability: both business and technical level. Able to work collaboratively to resolution with diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker, open to new ideas and assists in defining direction
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and maintains effective performance under stressful and uncertain conditions.
  • STEM Degree is highly desirable
  • Cloud Platform Solution Architect Certification is a must
  • CISSP, SABSA,GIAC or Product Vendor Technology Certifications are highly regarded.
