The Opportunity

South32 is seeking to undertake various pre-feasibility phase studies at the Worsley Alumina Refinery, aiming to reduce energy intensity, carbon emission, and water demand while progressing creep production projects within the process plant.

Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities are to:

 
•    Lead process plant related pre-feasibility and feasibility studies on potential investment opportunities across a range of project disciplines. 
•    Manage the health, safety and environment compliance and outcomes for assigned studies
•    Provide specialist advice and analysis to ensure the boundaries and business case of potential investment opportunities are explored and described sufficiently to determine the relative merit of the business case.
•    Actively promote and comply with South32 values and policies.
•    Proactively seeking to maximise and protect shareholder value
•    Development of budgets and schedules for assigned studies
•    Compliance with reporting and compliance to approval governance requirements

About You

•    Relevant degree or extensive demonstrated experience (Geoscience, Metallurgy, Engineering, Chemistry, Business or related)
•    Substantial experience in delivery of studies within heavy industry or relevant alternative experience
•    Broad exposure to operating facilities and process plants or other major industrial undertakings. 
•    Demonstrated experience in study and detail design management

Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  For the right candidate flexibility to work in the Perth office will be considered.
