About the Role

This role can be based in Brisbane or Perth.

You will provide technical expertise from a software engineering perspective in the analysis, modelling and improvement of processes across the mining value chain.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the supply chain IT capability by steering the delivery process and its outcomes. 
  • Steer BHP's technology strategy across the complete value chain, and diverse landscape to identify opportunities to deliver long-term risk adjusted returns for shareholders and stakeholders.  
  • Work closely with global IT groups to ensure alignment of IT cloud and infrastructure strategy with the business priorities and maximize value creation.
  • Analyse process improvement data from a software engineering lens and identify opportunities for technology solutions to improve productivity and throughput across the mining value chain. 
  • Work with global IT teams to define project scope and business cases, to support mining value chain improvement projects. 
  • Identify areas for re-use of innovative technology solutions for process improvement to support value creation. 
  • Innovate and influence how technology is leveraged in the organization and identify opportunities to transform the business through technology.

About You

  • Demonstrate senior experience in driving technology outcomes and digital transformation.
  • Proven ability for compelling business case development, supporting business value and risk.
  • Experience in managing all areas of IT, including IT planning and budgeting, systems development, technology infrastructure, and vendor management.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholders’ engagement skills
  • Proven capability in architecture, software engineering and strategic roadmap development 
  • Strong problem solver with ability to push solutions and progress.
