We are looking for a Principal Value Management Office to lead a team of governance and business service professionals responsible for facilitating the development and management of an integrated Knowledge, Innovation & Technology portfolio, aligned with the Rio Tinto Strategy.

Our Knowledge, Innovation & Technology (KIT) division delivers specialist knowledge management expertise, shapes and develops new technologies and leads the Water Strategy programme across the Iron Ore value chain – we’re focused on finding better ways for the future.

Reporting to the General Manager Knowledge, Innovation & Technology and working in a collaborative, inclusive and diverse environment within Iron Ore Operational & Technical Support, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering divisional operational and capital financial management including cost control, reporting, procurement and purchasing services and research & development (R&D) tax credits to support effective progression of portfolio work.
  • Ensuring compliance to portfolio governance frameworks and practices, harnessing leading practice to support future business direction, accelerated innovation and delivery of a high-value portfolio.
  • Provisioning of project controls and assurance activities to monitor measures of performance, drive continuous improvement and support sustained investment.
  • Building strategic, collaborative stakeholder partnerships to facilitate effective integration of the portfolio.
  • Overseeing the strategic support, communications, risk management and administration functions for the division.

We welcome applications from candidates who do not necessarily have a technical or mining background, you may have experience in portfolio management which will be highly considered.
