About the Role
We currently have a number of opportunities to shape the future direction of our surface operations at Olympic Dam and our exciting new development at Oak Dam.
As a critical team member in our Strategic Planning and Studies group you will bring deep processing expertise to support the delivery of large scale strategic and growth-related projects through Opportunity Assessment and Identification Phase Studies.

This role supports the development of major project investments with a significant level of complexity and you will be able to bring your experience to contribute to its success.
This role will be based in Adelaide offering excellent flexibility.
In this role you will:
- Have responsibility in delivering strategic studies (from concept through to pre-feasibility) contributing to BHPs growth at Olympic Dam and Oak Dam
- Develop and collate processing deliverables for input into the BHP planning processes
- Analyse and review functional inputs from multiple workstreams and summarise into high quality reports and presentations, suitable for senior project stakeholders and executives
- Lead studies with external engineering partners and suppliers to deliver high quality and technically assured engineering deliverables
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and value adding opportunities
- Develop and maintain study phase routines for monitoring and reporting of performance metrics including cost, schedule, risk and field leadership activities
- Co-ordinate study phase inputs and processes to support trade-off studies, financial valuations and preferred investment selection
- Support the delivery of Life of Asset Planning for Olympic Dam and Oak Dam
About You
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment, sustainability and social value
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgy or an aligned discipline
- Experience in studies, project engineering or project delivery roles
- Operational experience in minerals processing, hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy
- A positive outlook with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Strong written and presentational skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences, including senior executives
- Able to plan and organize self and work in order to achieve study objectives and milestone activities
- Drives collaboration within and across teams to ensure effective execution of studies
- Demonstrates a willingness to adapt with changing priorities and focus
- Seizes opportunities to do things better and think outside the square
