Process Control Coordinator

Work location: Hedland Operations. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster:  8 days/ 6 off / 7 nights / 7 off FIFO ex Perth

Key accountability will include:

  • Provide immediate support to production interruption to minimize any operation and maintenance delay by troubleshooting in the control system. i.e. PLC and SCADA.
  • Assist fault findings in the field for control system related issue. i.e. Profibus, ethernet, remote IO, PLC hardware, SCADA server and communication gateway etc.
  • Conduct investigation for delays, RCA and as required by operation and maintenance. Such as going through PLC logic, historical trend and alarms, CCTV footage etc.
  • Assist with projects that requires control system involvement including PLC/SCADA changes, field installation and device configuration.
  • Record correct and sufficient information in the shift log for handover and keep track of the bridges placed in the control system.
  • Provide shift coverage when required

Required Skills and Qualifications and skills required:

  • Current WA Electrical A Class Licence (Essential)
  • Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Current Drivers Licence (C Class)
  • Automation / instrumentation certificate (Desirable)
  • 2 years electrical experience in Mining/Bulk Material/Heavy Industry (Essential)
  • Experience with Control Systems (PLC/SCADA) and instrumentation (Essential)
  • Experience with Industrial Communication Protocol (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet) (Essential)
  • Experience with GE PLC or Schneider PLC (Desirable)
  • Experience with GE CIMPLICITY SCADA (Desirable)
  • Experience with ABB and Siemens VSD (Desirable)
