About the role
We are looking for a Process Control Engineer to provide technical support and leadership for operations and maintenance staff, assisting in improving plant availability and performance in order to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs. Optimisation and improvement of the process plant will be a key role.
Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, you will:
- Tune and optimize regulatory control loops
- Develop, monitor and maintain advanced process control schemes
- Provide support in developing processing metrics, ensuring data fidelity and accurate reporting
- Provide support to process improvement projects in order to reduce HSEQ risk, improve plant performance and reduce business costs
- Ensure compliance to RTIO standards and industry best practice, and sustainability of changes through first party assurance and governance of site control systems engineering processes
Your day to day, as the Process Control SME will see you provide technical support and leadership to fixed plant Operations and Maintenance teams. You will also assist in improving plant availability and performance to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs.
- Ensuring plant capacity is fully optimised and production targets are met
- Identifying process improvement opportunities
- Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly plant reports for the management team
- Providing technical support and advice to all operation crews and frontline leaders
- Fostering a culture of zero harm
About you
A team focus and ‘can-do’ approach will ensure your success in this role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Chemical or Control Systems Engineering.
- Programming and maintenance of control system platforms. Experience in Schneider PLCs (Quantum, M580s) highly regarded.
- Programming and development of SCADA systems.
- Experience in data management platforms, historians including OSI PI and SQL databases
- Experience in Microsoft suite of programs including Power BI (Advanced skills in Excel will be highly regarded)
- Experience in developing and maintaining advanced process control schemes. This includes but not limited to constraint control systems and model predictive control schemes.
- Experience in various data analytics methodologies
- A growth mindset & drive, to be open to new ideas to continuously improve and support our Plant, our Team & ourselves
- A ‘C’ class driver’s license is required
- Functional safety experience, while not required, will be highly regarded.
