Position Title: Process Control Engineer
Work Location: Solomon
- Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Role overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively resolve processing issues to ensure a zero-harm environment through design and implementation of technical process control engineering solutions
- Design, develop and improve process control systems to ensure optimal process equipment availability and utilisation
- Commissioning of drives, instrumentation, and miscellaneous field devices
- Liaise with relevant departments to provide technical solutions for operational support and projects
- Support the ongoing maintenance of control systems assets including PLCs, Scada servers, communications networks and field devices
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or similar, with 2-3 years’ experience as a Process Control Engineer in a mining fixed plant
- GE/Emerson PLC Programming and Cimplicity Scada experience or extensive experience with other PLC/Scada brands
- Good knowledge and experience with process instruments and field devices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
