The Opportunity – Permanent full-time position – 9-day fortnight working arrangement

As Process Control Engineer, the purpose of this role, is to assist in the specification, implementation and ongoing support of process control systems so production is assisted in the efficient running of the refinery process. 

This role is also to assist in the engineering, maintenance and management of process reporting tools, process control applications, user interfaces and Safety control systems.

Location 

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.

Accountabilities  

Primary responsibilities include:

•    Undertakes growth and maintenance of advanced control as it applies to the Worsley Alumina’s Mine, Materials, Refinery and Port areas.
•    Assists in the training of operating personnel to ensure effective usage of the systems.
•    Solves system problems and troubleshoot process control issues.
•    Support Variance Analysis where deviations have occurred and identify opportunities for improvement.
•    Ensure the Change Management Procedure is applied where applicable.
•    Work with stakeholders to prioritise work fronts and complete process control system deliverables.
•    Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation.
 
About You

•    Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant Australian Certification in Process Control / Electrical / Chemical / Instrumentation / Process Engineering or Production and Processing as required in local jurisdiction.
•    5 years’ experience is desirable in engineering, implementation and commissioning of process control applications on Honeywell Process Control System – EPKS and TPS, Modicon/Quantum PLC, Siemens PCS7, SEL RTAC and ABB MicroScada
•    Multi-variable control and optimisers applications.
•    Demonstrated, advanced written and oral English language proficiency.
•    Good understanding of Instrumentation and Control communication networks and protocols.
