Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Supervisor – Technology, the Process Control Engineer will design, develop and implement process control systems for Cadia Valley Operations.
The scope of the role will encompass troubleshooting, maintenance, system upgrades and enhancements, testing and commissioning, you will also provide training to operators and maintenance personnel.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering engineering support for Cadia Valley Operations Process Control Systems, inclusive of DCS, PLC’s, SCADA, HMI and supporting monitoring, network and server computing systems.
- Implementing and maintaining CVO Control and Monitoring System standards and specifications through detailed understanding, periodic review and updating of these standards and developing PCS procedures.
- Investigating equipment failures through a structured RCA process and identify and implement solutions.
- Developing Technical Solutions consistent with CVO standards and industry best practices.
- Ensuring continuous improvement of equipment and systems through analysing performance data, downtime records and incidents.
- Providing quality technical advice and support to workgroups, safety committees and investigations.
- Mentoring Graduate Engineers.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing and maintaining process control systems in the resources industry while providing support to maintenance, control room, operations, metallurgical and projects departments.
You will also possess the following:
- Tertiary Qualification in industrial control systems engineering (or related discipline) or Electrical Trade certificate (currently hold a NSW Electrical Supervisors Licence)
- Experience in process control systems specialising in resources/heavy industry, direct exposure in the following packages will be advantageous:
- Yokogawa Centum VP DCS
- Yokogawa Stardom PLCs
- CitectSCADA HMI systems
- Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC’s & HMI’s
- Aveva PI Historian Suite
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and effective communication
- Ability to interact competently with stakeholders at various levels.
