About the Role
We are actively seeking the talents of an experienced and skilled Metallurgist to join our Nickel West team at Leinster.
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Services, in this key capacity, you will design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes with a focus on improving processing plant performance.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting current processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives in order to reduce costs in production and develop improvements to the process operations
- Developing and implementing process strategies
- Providing operational readiness, commissioning and technical engineering services for the current operating assets design
- Developing, reviewing and Finalising Process Design Packages for accuracy, competitiveness and compliance
- Preparation of preliminary and detailed Process engineering design documents for projects or studies
- Metallurgical accounting and operational process control support.
- Daily monitoring and management of chemicals and chemical levels including inventory of consumables and equipment.
- Analysing data extracted from pilot plant trials to identify whether they can add value to the process and increase the recovery.
About You
Exceptional technical expertise complimented by a background in continuous improvement will certainly be advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will also be critical in ensuring you build effective collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the business.
In addition, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or equivalent
- A proven track record when it comes to safety management
- Demonstrated success working within a similar position
- Previous experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN will be highly regarded
- Proven analytical capability
- Previous experience managing chemicals and chemical levels
