Who we’re looking for:
We are currently seeking an experience Process Control Systems IT Advisor to join our Technology and Innovation team. As the Process Control Systems IT Advisor, you will be responsible for; Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network components, servers and workstations while implementing proactive measures to prevent and address potential issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate will stay current with security best practices and industry standards, regularly applying security patches, updates, and configurations to safeguard process control systems against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Other responsibilities include:
- Following OEM guidelines for server and workstation maintenance, upgrades, and configurations, ensuring hardware and software components are updated according to specifications for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and expansions, coordinating projects to minimize disruption to ongoing processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and performance of network and computer infrastructure, analysing system metrics, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and fine-tuning configurations for optimal system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, configurations, and updates, generating regular reports on system health, performance, and security status for internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver IT support for CVO Process Control Systems, inclusive of DCS servers, Workstations and supporting monitoring, network, and server computing systems.
- maintain CVO Control and Monitoring System standards and specifications through detailed understanding, periodic review and updating of these standards and developing Knowledgebase articles.
- Investigate equipment failures through a structured RCA process and identify and implement solutions.
- Develop Technical Solutions consistent with CVO standards and industry best practices.
- Ensure continuous improvement of equipment and systems through analysing performance data, downtime records and incidents.
- Provide quality technical advice and support to workgroups, safety committees and investigations.
You will also possess the following:
- Proven experience in a similar role, minimum 5 years.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification.
- Networking experience.
- Good knowledge of; Microsoft server platforms, workstations, virtual hosting platforms.
