About GEMCO 

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is a South32 Company, the operation is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

About the role 

This is a permanent full-time role being offered on a 4:3 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns.

You are responsible for facilitating the process control agenda, in alignment with the Operations & Technology strategies. In addition, you are accountable for delivering business value throughout the lifecycle of the GEMCO control systems.

The responsibility of the team you lead include analysis, design, development, deployment, monitoring, innovation, support, maintenance, and optimisation of our SCADA systems (Siemens and Citect).

About you

You will have a passion for driving a culture of continuous improvement and have proven experience working in a similar role within the Mining or Heavy Industry.

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics
• SCADA systems (Siemens, Citect, Rockwell)
• TIA portal programming tools
• Industrial communication protocol (Modbus and Profibus)
• Leadership experience
