About the role 

This is a permanent full-time role being offered on a 7:7 day shift roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns or can be offered as residential. 

You will provide process engineering support to the operations function, analysing and improving the metallurgical performance of the plant and identifying and implementing improvement projects.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

• Optimise plant performance and implement key improvement initiatives
• Analyse plant and production unit performance using process engineering and metallurgical principles, in house database tools, and statistical analysis
• Develop and implement recommendations to address variations
• Support Superintendents & Manager in providing information and technical expertise to projects and support in progressing projects through to pipeline
• Apply safety, health and environmental principles and procedures in a workplace
• Conduct Risk assessments and implement controls

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline (chemical, process, metallurgy)
• Experience gained in a similar role within heavy industry (i.e. mining, fertilisers, chemical, oil & gas)
• Good understanding of minerals processing principles and applying them in practice
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams and across all levels
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships within multi-functional teams and across all levels
