We are looking for a Process & Quality Engineer to provide technical support and expert advice on continuous improvement practices across Port Operations. This role is key to driving operational excellence and ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture

  • Promote safety awareness and compliance across all activities

  • Identify and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities using Rio Tinto best practices (MOC, Project Management, CI, Lean principles)

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance outcomes

  • Provide mentoring and technical support to Port Operations maintenance teams

  • Perform fixed plant laboratory testing and optimization

  • Ensure project plans align with monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets

  • Provide deviation analysis and recommend solutions

  • Support port operations adherence to ISO standards

  • Prepare and report monthly performance metrics, including mass and water balances, CFR, and reconciliation

What you’ll bring

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (or similar)

  • Excellent numerical analysis and data validation skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Process Engineering (or equivalent)

Where you’ll be working

Our integrated operations, including port facilities, ensure we supply the right quality product to our customers when they need it. Cape Lambert and Dampier ports operate as a single system, blending products and managing shipping operations to deliver reliable and consistent results.
