Process Engineer

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

Summary

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Process engineering technology role providing detailed process engineering and technology developed in house
  • Lead the design and selection of piping and pressure vessels, reactors, condensers, and gas drying systems
  • Lead the process design, HYSYS simulation, heat & mass balance, process flow diagrams, P&ID development, and any required process studies to be undertaken
  • Perform equipment sizing for process requirements, process time calculations, specifications, and data sheets
  • Communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, lead contract engineering program, and engage equipment and engineering specialist providers as required
  • Participation in specific detail design reviews and evaluations including technical safety reviews of design, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, risk analysis
  • Able to establish strong working relationships with other disciplines and stakeholders
  • Coordinate drafting of P&IDs whilst maintaining the process design change management register

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree of Engineering, Chemistry, Process or Mechanical or equivalent study
  • Industry experience in either energy power generation, industrial chemical processing, oil and gas processing, mineral processing, water treatment or projects involving renewable energy would be highly advantageous
  • 5+ years’ active process engineering design and commissioning experience with pressurised gas or liquid gas systems
  • Experienced in reactor and pressure vessel design as well as gas drying and deoxygenation
  • Experience running process simulations using HYSYS, generating heat & mass balances, equipment sizing and specifications, as well as developing PFDs and P&IDs
  • Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Exposure to detailed design, construction and commissioning would be advantageous
